The book A Programmer's Guide to COMMON LISP by Deborah Tatar, published by Digital Press in 1987, is now online with the author's permission along with the errata. One thing to note is the book covers the Common Lisp standard of the time, i.e. CLtL1.
As I wrote in my review the book provides the best introduction I've seen to Lisp's REPL-based development style, which I recommend to newcomers.
