I am writing a clone of Emacs in Scheme

This is kind-of a self-introduction post. Hi, nice to meet everyone!

I've been writing a clone of Emacs and the Emacs Lisp programming language in Scheme called "Schemacs".
- I have presented my work at EmacsConf twice:
- EmacsConf 2025
- EmacsConf 2024
I am a semi-regular contributor to the Lispy Gopher Climate Podcast hosted by @Screwlisp
I also write stuff on my blog about Scheme and Emacs.
- I wrote a series of articles on why Emacs does the "Unix philosophy" (each program does one thing and does it well) better than Unix does.
My ActivityPub handle at this time is @ramin_hal9001@fe.disroot.org. I am regularly on the Fediverse (especially the Mastodon, Pleroma, Akkoma, Frendica, Pixelfed federation of networks).

Haskell is my favorite programming language, but I love Lisps just as much. I believe humanity as a whole should move computing in the direction of solving all computing problems using the family of languages in the Lambda Cube, including Lisp and Haskell. Software should never be written on the assumption that it will run on a VonNeumann machine, unless you are writing a compiler for a VonNeumman machine. To the greatest extent possible, it should be lambdas all the way down.

I had to look up the Lambda Cube as I wasn't familiar with the expressions. What other languages are in the cube?

The Lispy Gopher Climate is streamed weekly on Wednesdays at 00:00 UTC. For Americans, it's Tuesday afternoon to evening. For Europeans, it's late at night. The host, @screwlisp, is based out of New Zealand, and he's mostly a Common Lisp guy, so that's what he talks about most.
